Darjeeling tea, the delicate sophisticated tea of the high regions of the Himalayan foothills. Darjeeling tea is always lighter and more subtle than most. While you could in theory add milk to it to do so would rob you of the unique savor of this prince of tea!
Quality Darjeeling's are grown up to 6500ft in the Himalayas and considered to be the ‘champagne’
of teas. Its cooler clean climate gives a refreshingly light cup with a
natural muscatel flavor. The leaf can be typically thin and twisted
with silvery tips and a greenish character. An ideal evening tea
Upper Pashok B.O.P.
A stronger tasteing darjeeling made from tea picked by a multitude of small holdings. It retains the muscatel hints typical of the region but its richer body and taste allow it to be taken with milk if desired.
The Pashok region has had
mixed fortunes. At one point there Tea factory was dismantled and the
once proud estates were near abandoned save for the tenacious small
holders keeping the noble tea trees alive with there timeless care.
Now the co operatives and
freeholders have brought this prized tea back from oblivion and we
are glad to be able to offer it here for sale at Wilkinsons.
